Advantages of using CRA's My Account

CRA's My Account provides easy access to your tax information and allows you to fast track the updating/changing of such information.

The service also allows you to expedite your correspondence with CRA should you need to send or receive documents from the agency. These are some of the services available through My Account:

  • Update your personal information (address, marital status, children's info)
  • View and print information slips
  • File adjustment to your current or previous years(s) tax returns
  • Submit medical receipt or tuition slip requested by CRA
  • Access to new amounts and related details applicable to reassessment(s)
  • Access to updated payment schedules and amounts for benefit programs (GST/HST credit, Canada child benefit)
  • Access to income amounts from last year in case you are applying for a student loan
  • Current or former students can access breakdown of all their tuition and education amounts, including current and past carryforwards
  • Carryovers of capital gains and losses

Information available on My Account is the most up-to-date and is the same information that CRA agents have access to.
